Trick or Treat… Treat Of Course!

Halloween… my favourite holiday of the year!  A time to play with lots of face paint and scary costumes, carve some quirky faces on pumpkins, and the best off all… the treats that come with the tricks!

All Hallow’s Eve, is thought to have originated with an ancient Celtic festival, involving people who wore costumes and left out food to ward off ghosts and spirits. Overtime, Halloween evolved into a community based event, which is now most popular in the United States, and involves activities of neighbourhood door knocking for trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving and a lot of scary story telling!

A lot of Australia take to celebrating this tradition; dressing up their children and taking them for an evening of trick or treating, and I personally try my hardest to take the holiday to the next level – by decorating the house, carving pumpkins, and of course whipping up some super scary treats to keep those little monsters happy!

So I thought I would share my favourite (scarily) sweet recipes I have gathered over the years. Why not get creative this Halloween and join in on spreading some spooky sweetness!
